Annual Woodland Population Survey Begins

Department researcher Dr J.Alexander has begun the annual woodland population survey across several protected regions of the United Kingdom.
The survey will record bird nesting activity, small mammal populations, migration patterns and changes to protected habitats.
Remote monitoring equipment has also been installed to record movement and acoustic activity throughout the survey period.
Members of the public may observe researchers working near marked Department survey locations over the coming weeks.
